Happy b-Gobblegobble & Black Friday!

Hello everyone,

If anyone even ever reads my posts... here's a little blab. if not... here's still a little blab.

I hope you all had a happy happy thanksgiving day (: No matter what you had, turkey or not, i hope there was some kind of delicious meal or just some food that you were thankful for. For me, I had some "all you can eat" kBBQ. It was, to be honest, quite delicious... more delicious than what it sounded... i liked it a lot :D (despite the fact that i still smell like kBBQ)

So in case you do not know what to post about... here are some questions to help :D
1. how was/is your thanksgiving?
2. what are you thankful for?
3. it's blackfriday. what do you want? what did you actually get?
4. How's life? (:

Hahaha so... for mee...
my thanksgiving consisted of sleeping until 12pm. Great. Hahaha! Then i played soul caliber 4. it's actually very very fun... or maybe i just havent played video games in a long time. I also ate a delicious mousse-like cake. nyom. i think it was from a place called wholesome foods. (: what else did i do? Oh yeah, i watched the new charlie & the chocolate factory. It's pretty good (: Hahaha a lot more sharp than the older version for sure. (i think this newer version is the one with jack sparrow [sp?]) later thanksgiving night, i ate at a all you can eat kbbq and filled myself up. yum. okay i think that's all... cuz i'm still up and it's already black friday...

I am thankful for everything... like.. really. except for people who are not productive to the world. hahaha. so be productive people. (: (this excludes people who procrastinate on school work of course... hahaha but i'm pretty sure you know what i mean).

it's black friday... i really want a netbook... and a car... Hm.. i dont think i'll get either since i'm broke like crazy... but.. ehhh; (: i dont get why there's a black friday when the day before this black friday, everyone's thankful for what they have... it's like.. they're taking things for granted!! hahaha okay, maybe that's just my weird thinking.

Life's been good. I'm actually slightly bored right now... Hmm... Arrgh, finals are just around the corner. cant... fail... cant... faill..... x_X

Okie, over & out, peace,

xkarii
P.S. I wanna read about your interesting posts about college life!

Hello, goodbye!

Holy cow I haven't been on this page in a while... In such a while that I don't even see any of the old blogs anymore... I wonder how many interesting posts I've missed out on.

...
...
...
...

Well I've gotta get back to work. I wouldn't be up at this time unless I had a good reason (yes architecture again... -.-) I just wanted to post something because I can. And because I haven't in a while.

When I come back to this site I want to see more awesome blogs! :D

Housework...

I dont know where to begin my rant for my dislike for housework. I hate doing laundry! Oh My Goodness! It's a very complicated process. It's like... english & essays! There are so many ways to get to so many answers! Why cant it be just like math where it's one formula, several ways to do it, and ONE ANSWER? A washing machine is way too complicated of a machine for me... It's either that, or they need to invent something new that will make clothes cleaning easier.
First off, there are SO many different kinds of washing machines. Sure, generally, the idea is the same... just like if u're writing an essay for an idea... the proofs are set and are the same but there are so many options! There are ones that open on top and ones that open on the side... and then... after you get that settled, there's other things to be considered. Then, you can decided to put your clothes first or detergent first... and then there are all these different combinations of chemicals to put in! It's fun mixing chemicals but each time, you dont know how much of each chemical to put into the machine! How do people do laundry if they dont have exact numbers?! O_O; it's a wonder to me... Anyways... Some people add only one chemical, others add up to 3-4... what's the difference? For some reason, it seems those people who use only 1 have better smelling & cleaner laundry than those who use 3-4 chemicals! Also, who would buy a bottle of bleach when there are detergents that contain bleach? Sigh;

Anywaysss... I was doing my laundry and my bf's sheets. This is a new laundry machine to me... so i tooootally dont know how to use it... I asked for instructions and did everything according to the instructions... but then... i heard abnormal noises... i hope this is normal for this machine... i dont want to see broken sheets & what not after its finished... Sorry if ur sheets are broken! ><><

sigh.. there are too many hard things about laundry...

anyways, moving on... COOKING... yeah it's fun.. but it's so hard to make everything right also! there's so many more things you can add into the uncooked food!! like... seasonings & what not! ohh and then u can mix a variety of foods and have different dishes; oh the variety...

so i cooked last night...
i made... dumplings, pot stickers, sausage, and marinated chicken! It was pretty good individually, but not good as a whole meal... i guess the potstickers & dumplings were too exotic... but hey! what can you expect from a college student who doesnt have time to cook?! actually.. i spent 3 hours in the kitchen cooking last night... the chicken did not taste that good... sigh... i think i should have marinated it over night; but hey!! i only had one night to cook! soooo... not fair?! sigh; anywhos... i made so much... i think it'll be my food for a long time...

i actually dont know where i'm getting at about cooking... cuz it's fun but time consuming and complicated at the same time... why are there so many types of food & ways to cook? i dont understand... but hey! i'm looking forward to making delicious food... hopefully, it wont take me a million trials...
oh... and it sucks.. i dont like eating what i cook from scratch... siiiigh;

Forgotten much?

Well, let's not forget this beautiful blog of ours, yeah?

Hope everyone had a nice summer, first few months of school & yeahh!

I just realized... it sucksss to not have a car here in southern california.
Blechh.

So on with school. I've crossed into a sorority last year and have picked up many positions in the sorority. One of the most tiring positions... is Rush chair... Oh My Goodness.

Rush is hectic. So much to do, so much to plan, and when rush is here... There is NO sleep.

I'm so glad it's over and that we have a good turnout (:

Anywhos... How's everyone's school year so far?

I hate not having a car... & I hate relying on my boyfriend to drive me around.
suuuuucks.

Get a car. I need a car. Cant wait to get a car.

the forgotten..

haha i totally forgot about this =X haha srry. anyways, we're all done with our first year of COLLEGE! yay~ i dont know about you guys but college is such a bittersweet experience for me. there were good parts to college, but there were many, and i mean many, parts that i would have liked to skipped or redo over... i know we go to college for the education and the experience, and to grow and such.. but i feel that since i've been here, i've gotten even more lost. like i dont know who i am right now or what i want to do and stuff... which isn't really that good haha. i'm starting to have second and third doubts about my major and my career path.. blehh let's get to the good part of college first!

i dont know why, but it seems that a lot of people have problems with their roommates. i have to say, i LOVE my roommate :) she is AWESOMEE and soo chilled and so easy to get along. at first i was like.. ehhhh.. but then afterwards, we got along pretty well. no major problems the whole year. there were times when i'm just like a bit grr.. but it always ends up being nothing big :) i am truly gonna miss rooming with her...

for some reason, whenever i start a blog about my first year experience, i can never find a way to continue it or to finish it... i dont know why..

i have to say, my first year i've experienced a heart break.. right in the beginning of the school year... i dont know how to explain this heartbreak if i haven't told you guys about it yet.. it was just something i didn't need... something i want to delete from my memory. it's sooo useless..like there're many memories that go along with the heartbreak that i do not need in my memory, yet they remain in there. it's just.. ARGH

i'm in summer school right now in uop..and haha i think for the first time i've experienced homesickness. haha weird right? never thought i'd be homesick.. but i was. i was really grumpy and moody and emo and stuff. haha at one point michael that i was gonna go into depression and stuff.. things were really bad... (wasn't cause of homesickness... other things contributed to the factor)

dude i dont know where i'm going with this.. this is how i feel.. i feel LOST. i honestly need to talk to someone about everything that's been going on in my mind.. it's just... too crazy sometimes...

As A Twig Is Bent The Tree Inclines

And so begins a new blog, the first of June. On June 19th (haha). There is a lot I want to share, so let's begin!! Quick!!

Bee's in Early Summer...
So right now, it's 11:30pm, on the night of June 19th, the day before my flight to SFO, and then to Daly City. In fact, 13 hours before my flight (hehe). Anyway, I'm still in San Diego =). Yup. I don't see what the rush to go home is, but I could understand. Finals week sucked. Bad. I had my Statistics final Monday night at 7pm, my Chemistry final Wednesday morning at 8am, and my History of Latin America essay finals due Wednesday before 12pm. Ugh.. So bad. Especially since I worked the weekend before. That Sunday was officially my last day with a company that I've worked for and with since November 3rd 2007. That is a really long time, ahah. Anyway, so Sunday night I studied like crazy for Statistics, went to sleep late and woke up at 7am to continue studying "like crazy". Then took a strategically placed nap at 2pm, and began reviewing. After what I thought was a good test, I went home (around 9:30pm), relaxed, ate, and began to study again. All day Tuesday: studying + reviewing = crazy out of my mind. By then I had decided that I'm not going to finish (or begin, for that matter) my two essays due Wednesday, being that it's only 2 percentage points of for each day late, so, not that bad. Wednesday morning at 8:05am I began to bubble circles with confidence on a scantron for my Chem final, and as I got up to turn my scantron in, my confidence went kaploot. Oh well. It turned out better than I had thought. The rest of Wednesday and some of Thursday I spent reading for my essays. I began my first of two essays at 6pm on Thursday and finished my second essay at 2am Friday. I whispered "f-- yea", printed my papers, slammed close my books and my laptop, and ran to bed. Oh, I forgot to mention, this whole time, that whole week I was sleeping on the sofa. I missed my bed so much.

Oh, and I finally made up with Joseph, one of my roommates, one of my best friends. I think that was Wednesday or Thursday. But it was nice. I learned more about him, and he learned more about me. It just made the last few days of San Diego so much better. More on that later.

Busy Beneath the Sunlight...
Yes, I've been very busy enjoying this sunlight. Which is funny, because there are times when the weather at UCSD is cloudy and sad, and in the area of my apartment it is sunny and nice. Being that I've finally finished my first year of college off-campus, it seems I want to compare living off campus against living on campus. I'm so appreciative of having lived at Regents Court Apartments for my first year. Lol, the convenience!!

Off campus:
-- Can easily get to Vons Shopping Center, Costa Verde Shopping, Westfield Mall, and La Jolla Village Square. In fact, they are all one or two blocks away!!
-- Can access the shuttle much quicker than you could on campus. From my apartment (aside from being able to see the bus stop from my window), you could get to the stop in about 30 seconds (if you walk, 15 if you run). This means not having to wake up ridiculously early to walk to the shuttle. And, even if you do miss the shuttle, another one comes within 3 minutes for a majority of the day! I'm so glad the frequency of the shuttles is as it is, because it means virtually no lines. Even if the line were to consist of 40 people, they could all fit in and be comfortably seated. And it's such a quick service too. I'm the first to get on (meaning seat preference) and the first to get off, and it usually takes 12 minutes to get to campus and 8 minutes to get home. And the shuttle stops near the center of campus! So convenient, so that if you have a lecture on the opposite end of the revelle campus, you're already halfway there!
-- The freedom!
-- You get to go to a super market and pick out the food you want to eat, cook it the way you want to cook it (which for lazy people means remove the plastic, put in microwave for 3 minutes on high, and let sit for 1 minute before eating), and eat it! No more having to choose between cafeteria food, and no more having to lose your UCSD meal points because you didn't want to buy that nasty looking lasagna. Oh, and the bargains!! Barillo pasta 10 for $10?! Hell yes!! I'll take 20!! Things at a Vons is so much cheaper than at the campus markets. Yes, sooo much cheaper. Oh, and I forgot to mention, your own dishware!! You want to eat on a set of dishes that have a theme that you like? Go ahead! You don't have to eat with the somewhat washed fork and dull plates from the cafeteria! Get your own set that you like! Don't want to cook? There are restaurants littered within a block of the apartment. Perfect! Oh, and now that we're on the subject of meal points, a benefit of living off campus and having on campus friends is... free food when you go eat with them!! More than half the time, students have so many meal points they have no idea what to do with them, so when you go visit them and have lunch at a campus cafeteria, they will "swipe for you", because they have the meal points to spare! Yay!
-- You get to do whatever you want, whenever you want. You want to do your laundry today? Go ahead, the washer and dryer are in your apartment. You want to take a quick relaxing dip in the pool, or better yet, the jacuzzi? It's right down the stairs. You want to go for a run at 11pm at night (guilty), then finish by going to the gym? No one is going to say no.
-- Space-Freedom! You have the freedom to set up your room the way you (and your roommate) want to set up the room. You want to have a large $3000 sofa in the living room facing a 1080p flat-screen tv hooked up with surround sound speakers? Sure! You also can have a very nice bathroom (I know I'll miss mine). You want to download that new Miley Cirus album, but it's illegal? That's okay, because UCSD isn't checking on you (the real cops might.. by the way, I'm not promoting illegal downloading, and in no ways am I suggesting I do..).

On campus:
-- You get to share a bathroom with your suite mates or floor mates.. yay?
-- Waking up 5 minutes before class starts? I usually press snooze on my alarm, and it's a 5 minute snooze. Now what? I'm screwed.
-- You have to pay for meal points that might not be used.
-- Are you familiarized with the buses?
-- Noise!! 'nuff said.

Okay, those are just a few main points for why I love living off campus. And to be honest, the points for why people would dread living off campus are lame. Three points which aren't really a hassle.

Through the Flowered Meadows...
So I've finally reached what seems like a true friendship with Joseph again. He left for home Wednesday, and Tuesday we spent the whole day hanging out, like the friends we are. Monday night we made a whole list of things we wanted to do, and to my amazement, we did them all. We woke up at 7am, and had a week's worth of fun. A true moment to remember. Highlights were playing basketball, watching The Taking of Pelham 123, working out, and eating, all the time talking, laughing, and enjoying our friendship. Whoop-whoop! Now it's back to me and Justin, my partner in crime! I can't wait to hang out again over the summer! =) It's 12:44am right now, and as I type this, my partner in crime is playing music to help eliminate the depressing quietness that is lingering. What would I do without such a good friend? =)

Death's Brother, Sleep...
And boy am I tired. In 12 hours I'll be on a plane heading north. In the past week I've been restless, and it's definitely time for me to have one last night here in San Diego.. at least, until August =). Good day to all! Have a good summer, and I can't wait to see you all!!

-MC =)

Someday in May.

Yep, so iono how many of you guys remembered maymas but it seemed we missed blogging on Maymas the day of. I actually remembered it but I was busy, woops. Anyways,
HAPPY {late} MAYMAS EVERYONE!!!

Hope everyone had a good one and well, yeah! :D I had a good three day weekend (: So what's up?
I have been busy; i actually... practically pulled 2 allnighters this week for an essay and studying (for a midterm) YES it's ridiculous how we still have a MIDterm on the NINTH week of school. (out of 10 weeks + finals week) what the hell, right? Hahaha sorta ridiculous!!! x) lol but yeah ionoo. (: i finally have some free time so that's why i'm posting right now :D

Sooooo, Sorry to Angela and Andrew who came down here on last saturday, because i didnt get to go visit you the day you came!! However, i'm very thankful you guys still came up to my room to come visit meeee!! <3 you guys! (: Hahaha, yes and see? even Angela agrees that my room is small. Oh boyydiddlydum. UCSD's rooms are small. sigh; well.. the apartments are usually bigger. Well, for mine next year it's bigg (: well, pretty big anyways. (= Hehehee. I hope it'll be cool living in an aptment minus the fact that i'll hafta cook nd stuff.

So recently, I've been staying a off campus for a bit once in a while. I realized how lucky i am to be living in a dorm in Revelle. Hahaha Oh the convenience. I think i will truly hate third year when I will be forced to move off campus. Let's compare some information of living on & off campus!

On campus:
-- Can easily get to class in less than 5 minutes, or 15 minutes if the class is located a bit further from dorm, which means waking up 5-10 mins before class starts!! Yippee!!
-- Meal points! Convenient. Just go to the dining hall and SWIPE!
-- All in one bill!

Off Campus:
-- Waking up an hour early just to catch the shuttle (which actually comes pretty often, like every three minutes?), which includes walking to the shuttle stop from the off campus apts/houses and then possibly waiting in a line to get on a shuttle. If there are a lot of people in line, then you might even have to wait for the next shuttle to come! Then, you will take about 15-20 minutes on a ride (stops included) before you get on campus and the stop they stop on campus is in the center of the school. Well, i guess that's reasonable, but still! If you're a certain major, most of ur classes will be in a certain college anyways!
-- Have to go to some super market, pick out the food, cook/prepare it, set it up, then eat! Oh... and I forgot to mention... washing the dishes. Sigh.
-- Bills! Bills! & MORE BILLS! Rent, Utilities, Internet, TV/Cable, maybe even groceries?

Okay, so those are the few main points that i would dread for living off campus... but i know there are plenty more!

Ohh! Formals tomorrow! I have no idea what's gonna happen. I'm a bit scared. But... *shrug* Wish me luuuuck! (: Ahahaha~

But for now, that's what i have to say!

OH! & Goodluck on finals, everyone!! (: <3

It's Finals week

Yes, the dreaded finals are here... which explains why I am blogging. I need something to distract me from studying and I've already blogged on xanga so now it's time to blog here! To start off --

Juli, are you living in an apartment next year? Or at least finding some new roommates? I wish I could visit you and beat them up for you haha. Or at least throw that rug out.... If the UC system would allow us to trade you for this SoCal girl in my architecture class, I totally would. All she does is hate on NorCal and whine about how much better LA is... please, then why'd she pick Berk over LA? That dumbbutt, wasting student space by coming here -.- I can't wait for you to come back home though =)

Back to Berkeley living --

The weather has been lovely here. The sun shining, the birds chirping, a slight breeze to keep the temperature comfortable for everyone.... and yet, everyone is trapped inside their rooms or the libraries studying for dang finals! Ugh... why's the good weather coming at the worst possible time? I cannot wait for this week to be over and venture down to UCSD!! Manuel, you need to take me to the Cliffs... I don't know where that is but my friend from SoCal told me if I'm going to San Diego to tell you to bring me to the cliffs before sunset. She said it's awesome =)

So, I'm doing this thing called the 30 hour famine where we basically fast for 30 hours and in that time we do community service and raise money for starving children in other countries. We're also collecting monetary donations so if any of you guys can donate some money for the cause it'd be greatly appreciated! Doesn't this remind you guys of when I used to ask for lap-a-thon pledges? Haha, but this time it's going towards a waaay better cause =)

Oh yeah, I might be getting a job coaching pre-teen/teen runners and athletes over the summer! I'm soo excited for that. I got a call back so it seems like I've got a position but we'll see.

I've run out of things to blog about. Well, not really. I have plenty to say but I don't think it's safe to blog about some of these things so if you guys ever want to be updated on my average life just IM or call me like good old times =) Or text if you just want to say hi! Yeupp, anyways I'll be back home in a week so see you all soon!

- Angela T.

SUNGOD FESTiVAL!

I dont think i'm going to be going to sungod this year even though this sarah barielles (sp?) girl who's supposedly really famous for signing love song is going to be there and what's N.E.R.D.? Uhh, whoever they are, arent as attractive as Sean Kingston, T.I., & Ludacris from years before! Only reason I'd go would be to watch my roommate dance in KunFusion & KABA MODERRRRRRN (: LOL!

Hmm, after a walk out... it doesnt seem too bad; I got my wristband and stuff. However.. everyone seems to be drunk and dont know what they're doing. Newspapers loitered all across the school campus, water slides, beer, beer, and more beer, girls in bikinis at this windy-ish temperature, and guys with furry bodies!! yuck. Okay, yes it's hair but it looks like fur. They're animals out there today, man! It's so funny because when I walked passed my pledge sister's big bro, he asked where she was and we told him that she was in class and he went to get her to get out of class. Is sungod really that amazing? Not from what I see. I mean, if Wondergirls or Big Bang were here, yes i'd skip class and wait 10 days in line for that... but.. N.E.R.D.? Motion City Soundtrack? Augustana? The Cook Kids? Man, i've never even heard of these things. Hahahaa I think i'm better off in my dorm and just relaxing & catching up on sleep.

Dang, it's been quite a while and mucho has happened since spring break! (:
Like Juli, I will list! :D it's faster that way and you get to all your points! (:
I think some of your points are hillarious because it sort of parallels mine! Dang UC system! what's wrong witchyall?!

9. rommate piling up the trash as high as she can when she knows i will have to take it out next.
Sometimes, same here!!
20. ge classes are a waste of time, don't you agree
Agreed!
25. people with cars in socal who assume everyone has a car and expect you to be able to go anywhere anytime to meet them, and are unsympathetic to your inability to do that
Seriously! It sucks enough not having a car down here! I'm just a little happier people here seem a bit sympathetic about that. o_O;
26. roommate leaving used tissue, trash, scraps of paper, bags, hair accessories, and old food containers all over
That would be me (the old food containers hahaha), I shall clean.
34. disgusting food and soap traces left on all the "clean" plates, silverware, and cups in the dining halls
Indeed -.-;;; ugh!
39. people who loiter in the halls talking on the phone or to friends loudly and publicly about their relationship issues and hookup
Even until 4am, wtf!?! At least keep it discrete, right?!
41. roommates whose idea of cleaning the floor is dragging their feet along the carpet forming giant balls of hair which they leave on the bathroom floor
HAHAHAHA! i do that to clean up the hair. x)

On top of that, to add to mine...
NO HOT WATER TO SHOWER! NO HOT WATER COMING OUT OF THE SINKS!! WHAT THE EFF? Maybe they want us to get sick on top of needing to worry about the swine flu!

Next, what happened to the monthly questions? o_O;

Moving on, happenings where I am (:

So, this quarter at UCSD,
  • Andrew, Victor, and I have already made our quarterly visit to Cindy; We're hoping some more people would like to join us next quarter/year? (:
  • I have finally crossed into UCSD Rho Delta Chi - Gamma Chapter! An Asian interest sorority (: Oh Fun <3 class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">your choice and my choice has been to not go. (: Dang, rereading that, it sounds motivational, but I'm just telling about my experience! (: Hahahaha!
  • Work, oh dreadful. I mixed the parents up once. Sigh. Good thing they had the same genotype. >< (which makes me wonder, what if a certain individual didnt like that other individual with that certain phenotype because they dont get turned on!? Strange, strange.)
  • My roommate's going to the Epik High Concert in LA this saturday and I wont be in my dorm for most of the time either to escort a date, so it'll be the most empty it's been in forever! :D hahaha!
  • Maymas is almost here!! (: Next weeeeekend! Hey Let's have a celebration at ucsd since angela & andrew & manuel & Cindy & I will be here! x) And then maybe the norcal people can have one in norcal! (: <3>
  • That's all for now! (:

Juli's List of Grievances

hello all. because i just realized that people still post here, i feel obligated to do the same, and i also need a place to vent besides dave whom i barely get to talk to online about anything besides how being here sucks anymore. because there's too much to say, i'll TRY to be brief so i can get to rewriting my paper (apparently some ucla professors and ta's think 3 pages is too much for a paper, wtf)

1. roommate leaving used pads on the toiled
2. LA water smells like the sewer is backed up
3. Mexican dining hall workers who don't speak any english and only respond with "vegetarian" repeatedly when asked anything about the contents of the food you are given
4. being awakened almost every morning by those awful things known as leafblowers (does no one know how to use a rake or broom around here?)
5. having to step around people powerwashing the floor (because it's ok to not conserve water when it saves a laborer paid for his service from having to use something that maybe scrubs?)
6. dining halls that put de-veganize even plain vegetables by adding margarine to them
7. "like...like...like..." times infinity
8. roommate littering bras, dirty socks, and any other form of apparel on the floor
9. rommate piling up the trash as high as she can when she knows i will have to take it out next
10. rude airport employees (i've observed that it is almost always the black women in my own experience)
11. rude lazy inconsiderate student food service employees who draw faces on their sanitary gloves on the job
12. the asian woman who works at Rendezvous, wipes her nose on her gloves, and who withheld my food from me just to get a laugh out of it
13. mislabeled food claiming that things that are only vegetarian, or not even vegetarian, are vegan
14. history 22 professor who tries to liven up lectures by adding sound effects which only distract, annoy, consume time, and hurt the ears
15. grading system in history 22 which places 30% of total grade purely on participation in discussion (i'm sorry i don't give a shit about history and therefore have trouble learning it, remembering it, and giving my long drawn-out comments about it consistently!)
16. spanish placement test which unfairly judges proficiency through use of random questions and that required me to take another quarter of the subject i already put myself through 3 years of in high school, and will now slow my progression to graduation even more
17. ucla's stupidity in overenrolling new admits my year so that every class i need is in demand over its capacity, causing me to stress over enrollment problems every quarter, postpone requirements, and possibly have to graduate late and/or fill my summers with classes here in which case i may never see dave and my pets more than a couple times for extra months
18. the distance between ucla, often unfeasible by bus, and any animal hospital/organization allowing volunteers/interns in a field i am interested in
19. vet school admissions criteria being different for each of the 27 or 28 schools so that you cannot know what you need without checking each one specifically
20. ge classes are a waste of time, don't you agree?
21. vet school requirements of experience hours for admission
22. price of LA buses
23. lack of punctuality of Flyaway bus to LAX
24. animal organizations back home which necessitate an unbroken commitment of 6 months to a year because although those experiences would be perfect for me and i have somewhat easier access to those areas than i do in LA, i cannot be home for over 3 months and therefore lose out on valuable work
25. people with cars in socal who assume everyone has a car and expect you to be able to go anywhere anytime to meet them, and are unsympathetic to your inability to do that
26. roommate leaving used tissue, trash, scraps of paper, bags, hair accessories, and old food containers all over
27. roommate who doesn't comprehend the fact that a wax cup is unrecyclable, but not that a plastic one is
28. roommate purposely leaving me locked out of the room by not doing anything when i go out at night doing my part by taking out the recycling and forget my key, then knock loudly for a full 5 minutes or more knowing she is awake because she was moving around in an obviously awake manner just seconds earlier
29. ucla's summer enrollment policy stating that if at any time, including far before the start of classes, you withdraw as in drop all classes even if it was only one any time after adding, a $100 processing fee will be charged (because a computer takes $100 worth of time and labor to add a number to a number and remove it again?)
30. people who tell me they love animals and do not want to support their inhumane treatment in labs, factory farms, entertainment, etc. but will disregard any remnant of moral fiber in an instant when tempted with food or another product of these atrocities
31. honey in every piece of wheat bread in the dining halls, so i cannot even have a "vegan"burger
32. dining hall workers who give you attitude when you make a request even though they're supposed to be welcome to them, and we're the ones overpaying them for what they do
33. the school's idea of "vegan options" actually meaning salad of bitter vegetables that are unfresh and unwashed
34. disgusting food and soap traces left on all the "clean" plates, silverware, and cups in the dining halls
35. ucla increasing student fees while decreasing size of drink provided with meal to cope with budget cuts for which the students should not be held responsible
36. roommate turning the a/c down each time she comes in (just because her fat probably insulates her from the chill doesn't mean someone like me is immune to the biting cold in here)
37. a/c that does nothing to increase warmth throughout the room, but only produces 70 degree air in the top 2 feet at the ceiling and 50 degree air at the floor (not it doesn't warm at all because it's broken once again)
38. roommate who must be part vampire who never leaves, always has the light off, sits on her bed reading in the dark, closes the blinds on a sunny day but opens the window on a cold one, and throws off my circadian rhythms by keeping the room looking like a perpetual cave of solitude
39. people who loiter in the halls talking on the phone or to friends loudly and publicly about their relationship issues and hookups
40. parents who will drive 8 hours to visit my uncle, call me when they're here with no prior notification, expect me to drop everything to see them, tell me they'll drive me to shop but then yell at me when i call them back asking about it, act like they want to check out my school but won't get out of bed to say hi to me when i'm home, won't travel anywhere to help me move my stuff and leave me to transport bags that weigh far more than i do, refuse to talk to me when i'm emotional, tell me i can come home anytime and then yell at me when i ask for money for plane tickets, yell at me when i need money for tuition, don't even bother to ask what i might want from home the one time they are down here, and assume that a college student has school on a high school schedule and refuse to hear me when i tell them we don't
41. roommates whose idea of cleaning the floor is dragging their feet along the carpet forming giant balls of hair which they leave on the bathroom floor
42. crappy dorm sink that isn't useful for washing anything without getting water everywhere
43. the bathroom rug which roommate brought in the beginning of the year for us all to use but refuses to wash because she doesn't want to put it in with her clothes, and won't even touch with her hands to take out of the bathroom when it's cleaning day
44. roommate saying stupid things and not possessing common sense, for example the knowledge that a laptop does indeed have a battery
45. the sound no longer works on my laptop except during startup so i cannot watch class podcasts
46. the lame paint job on my laptop scratching off for some unknown reason on all sides
47. archaic southwest counter at LAX that makes you bring your own baggage to the x-ray machine
48. 3 classes sheduling papers due at the worst time in the 2 days following memorial day weekend
49. rude condescending apartment/condo complex owners
50. being stuck with the top bunk without my outlet nearby so i cannot have my computer in bed since it runs out of power quickly
51. roommates who won't allow my bf to visit
52. roommate who has a problem with me using webcam with my bf
53. roommates who always hit the back of my chair and my head when walking by even though they're the ones who moved my desk to this position in the beginning of the year knowing there is little room behind it
54. drunk people coming to the room at night when i'm studying
55. roommates using the microwave and adding to the rotting stench built up in there that no amount of cleaning can eliminate
56. insanely hot dry weather combined with hill after hill to walk up everyday
57. extreme temperature differences between the outside world and my room making the environment very uncomfortable either way
58. the courtyard construction of this dorm that amplifies the sounds of idiots talking endlessly outside
59. gigantic campus that makes a walk from class to class or dorm to counseling take 20 minutes
60. airport shuttle drivers who have no idea what they're doing

ok that's enough for now

:)

one of my friends just invited me over to his house for a dinner on friday night and he said it was like an end of the school year sort of thing, and it reminded me of the end of the school year get-togethers we used to have. =/ do you guys think it'll be possible to have another one of those again before we go off to our second year of college?

Seldom Neglect to Bemoan Your Great Troubles

So I've been meaning to study for my first midterm for my first (last?) history class at UCSD, but I also have been meaning to blog. We can all tell what came first, right?

Well, let's begin. Apparently, it's been two and a half months since I last blogged.. It's been too long!! I think it takes me such effort to finally blog because I have much on my mind that I want to blog about, so I only want to blog whenever I have the most time to myself.. but, the time when I have the least things to do is (of course) when I'm going to study for a midterm! That's when my "procrastination" kicks in. It's funny, the only time I procrastinate is when I have time to procrastinate. I mean, when I have the whole day to myself because I've cleared all homework aside to study for something like a midterm on the following day, I do everything that I otherwise would not do had I not had the time to do! Today, for example, after coming home from my morning classes, I noticed we had no milk (to make my awesome lattes...) or bread (to make my awesome sandwiches!!), so I got on the shuttle and went to my local safeway/vons. Speaking of which, I finally saw Aaron last monday! I was on my way from the Applied Physics and Mathematics building to the shuttle (with my earphones on to look cool [lol]) when I saw him! I don't think he recognized me at first because I have a different haircut (blogged about later), but after saying (yelling?) "Aaron" and talking a bit he remembered who I was [lol]. Uhh... where was I? AH! So, I went to that store, bought milk, cereal, peanut butter and chips and salsa (for our friday movie night! Oh... wait.. hmm, not this friday, because this friday we're [roomies] actually going to the movie theatres [as opposed to friday movie night where we watch a movie {it was going to be psycho} on my laptop using my awesome ipod speakers {lol}] to watch Wolverine, Obsessed [hopefully! It's Beyonce!! C'mon!! We MUST watch it!!] and maybe that star trek movie [but hopefully not.. not because I'm not a fan {I'm not} but because.. I don't want to watch it =)], so I guess we'll move it to saturday) and walked back home. Umm.. Oh yea, so anyway, I got home and loaded the washing machine and started to wash the dishes. It's weird, back when we only had 4 cups and 4 plates, our sink would remain fairly empty, and we would all lend a hand in washing the dishes.. But, now that we have over 20 cups and over 20 small plates, big plates, bowls, pots and pans, our sink can fill up quickly! The worst part is that because it fills up so quickly, if no one takes immediate initiative and washes the dishes, then the dishes just slowly pile up even more. Also, the more the dishes pile up, the less someone wants to wash all those dishes. Last week or so, it finally got so bad that we were drinking from one cup that we kept re-washing over and over. One of my roommates (the one with the car) decided to buy the dishwashing pellet things and use the dishwasher for the first time. Slowly, the pile of dishes in the sink vanished. Well anyway, I washed the dishes and put in a second load of laundry, then started to tidy up my room. [SHOOT!! I got so scared! Firefox slowed down way too much at this point and then said "Firefox has stopped working, check online for a solution and close, etc" and I got so dissapointed! "Noooooooooooo!!! I wrote so much!! Heck no am I rewriting everything!" lol. Thankfully, I opened IE and clicked the edit posts option and my draft was there, complete with everything I just wrote. Thank.. Technology! Now, where was I? lol]. I went to school, got a cup of iced mocha, and headed for my afternoon class. After that I rushed home (gearing up to study of course), and began to fold my clothes. Then I took an awesome shower with my music full blast (I was home alone — a rare, yet much appreciated time). Then I got on my laptop and well, here I am! Amazing right? Yea, I know, Study!!

So what's new in life? Well, some of you may already now this, but I haven't stopped running since I've been down here. And this past sunday, there was a half marathon and a 5K, and guess who ran the 5K? Me. And guess who was finished 8th place behind 7 thirty-something-year-olds? Me. And guess who finished 1st in his age division? ME! And guess who got this awesome 1st place medal? ME!! And guess who got this awesome 1st place trophy? The guy who got 1st place overall. But guess who got $1000?! The guy who got 1st place for the half-marathon. LOL. But yea, I was so happy! So happy, that me and my roommate decided to cut each others hair. Lol (should I post a picture? Eh, I'll just send one to whoever wants to see it =)). Then that sunday night, my roommate fell ill (I was mildly sick, so I probably passed it to him), so I ran to safeway/vons (with my blistered feet), bought tylenol, and then ran to subway (they close at 11 and it was 10:56, when I got there! Yes!) to grab him something to eat. The day after, though, I fell horribly ill. I couldn't even walk right (probably due to my hurting feet, but still)! It's really depressing getting sick when you are 500 miles away from your family
=( . Thank goodness I've become best friends with my roommate. He was able to take care of me the same way I would take care of any of you — clumsily and under-par (lol, jk jk). I still feel a bit sick, but I'm much better.

So, I think that's all I have to blog about for now — actually I've got some more. My roommate, Justin, and I bought this awesome sofa (and cool sculpture)! The last saturday of my spring break, we went to a garage sale at 8 in the morning. It was for this huge house in a rich neighborhood. All the things were very pricey: $1300 cabinets, $800 vases, $700 rugs, etc. But, there was this one black, high quality L-shaped sofa... for $100. We looked at each other and said "F— yea!" It was a 9 by 7 foot sofa, and the reason it was so cheap was because it had cat scratches on one of the corners. We told the madam in charge that we would take it, and hastily she said "Actually, I didn't think it would have so many cat scratches.. I'm sorry for that, I'll bring it down to $75" ("F— YEA!!"). As we continued walking, we saw the art room (again, pricey stuff), but the pieces that had no names were less expensive. We saw this one sculpture of three faces in a plastic box hanging on the wall, and the price? $100. When we showed interest in it, she said, "well that's $75 [she didn't realize it was actually tagged as $100], and since you're also buying the sofa, I'll bring it down to $50". Again, we tried our best to contain our explosive excitement: "Umm.... Okay, that is nice, we will take it". We bought the two items and sunday we rented a U-Haul truck and a driver, and picked up the sofa and brought it to our apartment. Needless to say, we had a LOT of trouble bringing the L-shaped sofa (heavy, too) up three flights of stairs and into our apartment. After all that hard work, we finally relaxed and played around on our sofa. It's so nice and soft and huge! Best investment ever (lol)! Oh and we checked the name of the man who created the sculpture (it was faint and on the side) online, and he is apparently very popular here in SoCal. Yup. =)

Oh, also, my roommate Justin and I bought roller blades a couple weeks ago. Our idea in the beginning was to roller blade from class to class, being that most transportation options students here have are either skateboards, bicycles, or ... walking. So, we have been practicing on the roof of our garage nearly every other other night, usually from 10-12am. Once we got better, we began to roller blade down all the levels of the garage, where I was forced to learn how to turn (and later forced to learn how to turn without falling). One day about two weeks ago, we finally gained enough confidence to roller blade to our local safeway/vons (confidence in our abilities, not our appearance). Unfortunately, we didn't start out right. At the ground floor of our garage (we roller bladed from the roof to the ground floor) there are gates, which open by moving to the side on wheels. Unfortunately, we never noticed that the wheels of the gates actually roll on a thin rail, as opposed to a flat surface, and, just like the rail near the first lane on the track during track meets where people trip over as they cross the track, we tripped over that gate rail. We spun around in the air so many times. It looked really cool, but the pain was a beach. We eventually got up (as a car was approaching, ready to run us over) and began our trek to the store. It was an experience we've yet to replicate to any extent. One day, though, we'll go again.

Okay, it's really time for me to study for my History of Latin America in the 20th Century midterm.. Because I gotta study!! Haha, yup. Let's keep this blog alive!! And I'm sorry I wrote so much! Hopefully you decide to read my post bit by bit, day by day, as I'm sure it's as boring as I believe it to be. =)

Goodluck to everyone with classes!!

One year down, three more to go!

I can't believe how fast the first year of college has gone by! There's only 3 more weeks of instruction left for the semester and then 2 weeks of finals. Even though there have definitely been MANY ups and downs during my first year at Cal, I'm shocked at how quickly this year has gone by. I'm actually loving Cal a lot more after the second semester and dare I say it... I'm looking forward to next year =) Hopefully me, Vivian, Jessica, and whoever that last roommate is find a decent apartment and we can all live together contently. There is actually much more to do in Berkeley than at home as long as you know enough people that you always have someone to hang out with (although that's pretty much the case everywhere). Maybe Daly City is only boring to me because I need to know more adventurous people at home? Naahhh, I think Daly City just lacks things to do... There are so many things I feel I have accomplished this second semester of school, I am just really proud of myself that after one semester of depression I can finally see the brighter side of things and take life by the reins! Yeah! Haha, I'm such a sucker for cliches -- I love using them in writing, especially blogging, but it sucks how writing is considered "bad" when it makes use of cliches... But I do confess, I am a pretty bad writer =P I need to learn how to write without using smiley faces, then I think I'll have a work of art on my hands =)

Random note 1: I have discovered that I am slightly allergic to chicken! (but that isn't stopping me from eating it hah!)

Random note 2: The reasons I am writing this blog are 1. Because I feel guilty - 2. Beccause I felt like blogging and was about to blog on my xanga but changed my mind to blogging on maymas. - 3. Because it is like 90 degrees in my dorm room right now and it is waaay too hot for me to even come close to sleeping.

Anyways, I really miss everyone and I hope during the summer we can all do something fun together! I really want all of us to go to Great America! =D or to something that we don't normally do. Yup, that will be my -- or our -- goal for the summer!!

Spring Break 2k9

So... Spring break was basically about 1 week + an extra weekend. My spring break was wonderful and I hope yours were too! This spring break.. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and did quite a bit. (: Since I'm horrible at keeping people entertained with long paragraphs... I'll do lists (again!). But first, the beginning of my Spring break was horrible. I pulled an allnighter for the finals for my last class which was an essay. (: Then.. i didnt sleep that night, and then the next day... I didnt sleep till 3AM. (Yeah, i flew back on the plane and didnt sleep either!) I was very excited that I can finally see my dear beloved bf and HOME! I spent a lot of time with people that very first day I came back and it was fun!

But here's a list of what I did over Spring Break (in order of... what made my week?)
- Having the bf by my side (always)
- throwing up a rainbow (i really wish i saw)
- celebrating my sister's birthday (:
- going to UOP & visiting Moe (miss you already!)
- slapping the bf & others? (oh ho ho ho. I honestly... didnt mean to)
- Cranium. LOL.
- meeting Michael
- going crazy
- bf's house
- pauline's house
- getting lost in SF State
- getting my mom's car for a day
- shopping and using coupons :D
- freebies!
- staying home and relaxing

hmm actually, now that i look at the list.. there isnt that much that i did ^^; hm. maybe i'm missing a few things but so far, this has been one of the best breaks i've ever had! (:

I honestly wish this break was longer. x) Cant wait for the summer!

Hm... why does this sound like a diary post? lmao.

Anywhos, how were your Spring breaks if you've had them already? If not, what are you gonna do during ur spring break? (:

I cant wait for THE bf's spring break so he can spend MORE time with me :D yay!

Oh yeah... questions (or demands) for what's left of March & April, i guess...
1. Tell me about your spring break!
2. I'm currently hungry.. man.. what's your favorite food?
3. How long has it been since you last posted in here?!
4. When was the last time you changed your underwear?
5. If you can do anything in the world right now, what would you do? (i.e. commit a crime, relax, eat some pizza, watch tv, ANYTHING!, etc etc)

I'm in Hum.

so a bit earlier... several days/weeks ago... i started thinking...

this is how you fail at life
1. you skip class.
2. you dont know your information
3. you dont do well on ur midterms and finals (& all other quizzes and tests)
4. you fail the class
5. you dont get into good classes
6. you dont make it to a good university/gradschool/ whatever's next
7. you fail at life
8. you dont have a job
9. you're living off your parents
10. parents pass away (or retire) )':
11. you cant support urself.
12. you get paranoid and depressed
13. you go crazy
14. you end up in an asylum.
this all started with skipping class...

so kiiiids, dont skip (:

EDiT_____ dont skip without REAL reasonable causes. if you know what i mean. but seriously. try not to skip even still.

Oh yeah; so back a week or two.. it was Dr. Seuss' birthday (: We, kids @ UCSD, celebrated (:

How? well.. ucsd looks like the setting of most dr. seuss books already xD The trees... the library (strange shape)... there was a big blown up cat in the hat cat big birthday cake (dr. Seuss style) THEN... in dining halls...
THEY SERVED...

GREEN EGGS & HAM!

haha how awesome is that?
i should have taken a picture. darn.

um... yah x]

so i have a confession. i've kind of totally forgot about maymas for a time being -.-; it wasn't until i checked my info tab thingy on my facebook that did i remembered about maymas. =X

so first of all, we've all survived our first semester of college! yay~ i don't know about you guys but college is nothing like high school or the high school ap courses. it is definitely bijillion times harder. however, there are still some elements that are relatively the same. haha i remembered last year mr. leet refused to move one of his tests cause he said in college professors aren't that nice. that's definitely a lie. you just have to know which professor to work with and stuff. haha my chem professor already moved two of our tests cause it collided with another bio test... and being that almost everyone in chem is taking bio, she moved the test. :D anyways... college is a pain in the butt sometimes. haha it feels like once you fall behind, you'll always be behind. when you're catching up with one class, you'll fall behind on your other classes. and as soon as you're all caught up with one class, you're way behind on your other classes and midterms for those classes are just around the corner. funness i swear.

i haven't had any serious problems with my roommate yet, and i hope it stays that way. we're both pretty chilled people. we used to clean our room every friday after our classes while jamming and singing to music. it was fun while it lasted. now when friday afternoon comes, all i want to do is sleep or just do absolute nothing. my side of the room is soo messy compared to last semester's. but it's still managable. :) the funny thing is, when i find something (usually little things) that irritates me about what she does, she usually like confess and try to change it. iono how to explain it, but we're pretty cool (: and next year she's going to be living in one of the sorority houses while i'm gonna room with one of my close friends on campus :) super excited about that :D

canceled classes are the best :D haha it feels so good to not have to go to a class for some reason. iono haha usually on wednesdays, i have class from 8-920, 930-1050, 1230-150 and lab from 2-5. today the 1230-150 class was canceled because the professor's children were sick. that's the second time that class is canceled :D at least he emailed us a night beforehand (: last time, i found out from my friend on my way to class. and i was at the building, about to go in when my friend told me that she received an email like five minutes ago saying class was canceled. haha at least it's better than sitting there listening to him lecture... instead of the "discussions" we're supposed to have as a class. haha

uop is like a bubble. haha i feel like when i'm here, i dont have any idea what's going on in the outside world. i remembered last semester around october, i was super surprised that the gas price was less than $2.00. actually i have no idea how much gas is right now haha. oh well x] currently my building is acting weird. the on monday night, the guy's floor didn't have electricity. on tuesday, we didn't have water for like two hours. and since then, we don't have hot water. today's the third day so hopefully we'll get hot water bath tomorrow because someone said the last time the hot water ran out in the building, the RA said they didn't get it back for three days. hmm... hopefully we will get it back tomorrow :D cause it's not that fun to go over to another building to shower... even though i swear i know more people in that building than in mine. x] *shrug*

lately my sleep pattern is bleh. and i've been trying to correct it. i havent really napped in a while which i guess is good. but for some reason i feel really awake at night and cant really sleep till like 230 or something for the past few days. blehhhh now i'm sleepy and getting bored.
i'll update more later.. ^^; toodles

Dawn Over And Over Again

Time Flies... Every morning I wake up, it's already been a day since the last, a week since last week's, and a month since last month's. I just have to open my eyes in the morning and ta-daa: Tomorrow becomes Today, and Today becomes a mere memory — nothing to enjoy but passing images. It has been more than a month since the last post on this postless-for-2009 blog, and it really is incredible how quick time flies (btw, wonderful insects, ey?). I've gotten to know my roommates very well, one more so than the others. We got along real quick; it seems that we are of the same pod of peas. Sure there are differences among us, but they tend to be few and rare. But we are both amazed at how quickly our friendship developed, and how real, honest and open we are with each other. We've only been living together for a month, and we've already become very good friends. We understand each other's emotions, we pull all-nighter's watching movies like Memento, we go out to have dinner together. In some ways, I could now understand what some people say when they introduce their good friend ("This is John, we met in college," or "This is Doe, we roomed together in college"). It's real easy to become friends, and it just takes a bit of time, effort and interest to maintain that status.

Anger is Brief Madness...
[Edit: My First Rant! Awesome!] On the other hand, I could now see why people could get very irritated with their roommates over small situations. Over the course of the month, one of our roommates decided to have his bedroom in his share of the bedroom and in the living room as well. There were clothes, coins, cereal boxes, papers and basic crap all over the southern end of the living room. Don't let that sloppiness seem the worst, though. He would cook with pots and pans that I purchased and we shared. And that's it. He would use the pot for his own serving of pasta sauce, serve himself, eat, and go to the living room to spend mindless hours on his laptop. Allow me to mention that the pot is still on the stove and the plates have remained on the kitchen table. Night falls. The sun rises. The sun sets. The sun rises and he wants to use the pot again. Thank goodness he has a roommate that didn't like the sight of having a pot sitting overnight with pasta sauce in it. Thank goodness he has a roommate that thinks that is unsanitary and WANTS to wash it. Thank goodness he has a roommate that needs to use the pot to make his own food and NEEDS to wash it. Thank goodness he has a clean pot now which he can use to do the whole charade all over again. Yea, that's not going to sit well with me. It's going down. This happened over the course of a week, and I planned to speak with him about the living room's mess and the mess in the kitchen asap, but, of course, he was never available (either he wasn't home, or he was on his laptop, numbing away his eyes). This side-story: I usually wake up at 5 or 6am here, so I set my alarm on my phone for that time. The first few times that I began to wake up so early, I was not able to hear my alarm, and completely overslept. I'm sure that annoyed him. One fateful friday I had a calc quiz at 8am. Sure enough, I overslept. Sure enough, having the alarm sound indefinitely annoyed him. When I came home from my quiz (I actually got an A) he asked me "Could you wake up when your alarm sounds, please?". Given that this was before I began to get irritated by his messy behavior, I said, "Yea, I'll definitely try," biting back boiling rage, "but how about we compromise. If you are annoyed by my alarm ringing and I haven't turned it off, which could be because I'm really tired and can't hear it, how about you wake me up, and I'll turn off my alarm. This way, we both get our wants satisfied". He agreed. Now I begin to get irritated about his mess. Then, the next thursday, I woke up to my alarm ringing, and, as I reached over to turn it off, he was leaning over me. He whispered "Oh, I was going to wake you up" (doesn't matter that my alarm just began to sound). Now, I usually lay in bed for about 5-10 minutes just thinking about the day, or my dream. I also usually turn off my alarm, rather than setting it to snooze. All of a sudden, my alarm goes off again, and I am hastily trying to find where I put my phone, so that I could turn it off. I finally find it, and when I do turn it off, he says "Do you mind turning off your alarm when you wake up? It get's annoying". I blew up. I was raged. I went off on him (speaking very eloquently, by the way, no matter how pissed I was). I told him off about the living room, about the kitchen, about me and the others having to wash dishes that have sat overnight because we need to use them, and all of his messy behavior that was not there before. He changed that asap. We no longer have that problem.

The Best Seasoning... Sure I've been cooking steak, spaghetti w/ and w/out meatballs, and rigatoni, but food is expensive! That's all I want to spend money on. No more cookies for me. No more chocolates. No more cakes. Just regular food and drinks (but oh, cake does sound good right now). Fortunately, my mother seemed to have sensed that, and sent me two chocolate cakes and one carrot cake via usps. As soon as I opened my package and realized what it was, I took them to my room and hid them beneath my bed. Hell no am I sharing this! Once I was home alone, I got a plastic fork and ate the hell out of it. Hunger definitely is the best seasoning. Even though that was store bought cake mix, it sure felt like and tasted like the best damn cake I've ever had. Yum.

While I Breathe, I Hope... and I hope that we have new posts by next month!

A New Dawn

I begin typing this and it's 11am (here in San Diego — there's a slight time difference it seems... I wake up with much ease in contrast to the lazy attitude of waking up in Daly City, which I attribute to time), and I'm sitting near the "dining room" table typing on my laptop. To sum it all up in a phrase, "I wish I were a poet, for a poet would be able to say all which I can only express with a single 'amazing'".

I had Calculus today in the morning (8am, again!), after which I went to a lounge nearby with this one girl I have been getting to know better and better as the "Monday Wednesday Friday"'s pass by. I came home after an hour or so of being there. "Home"... it's a word I have been using for the past 18.66 years of my life, yet using it for this past week or so has had the weirdest effect. I have to think about calling my apartment at one of the better apartment complexes "home". I sometimes pause to remind myself that this hotel-look-a-like is "home". Nevertheless, I love it. My room has been coming along (more or less) — mainly because the walk-in closet is completely set up and there is a bed in my room. The living room, on the other hand, is bare, except for my tv (which I cautiously brought with the rest of my luggage). We finally had internet installed last thursday, after a week of being deprived of any form of communication with the outside world (except for my iPhone). My roommates (two freshmen and a third year) are pretty nice. The only thing I can say is that I seem horribly outgoing in comparison to the freshmen roommates. Actually, that's not extreme enough. The third year is practically near rarely here, and I'm the only one that seems to want to do the same. The other two practically live here (ha) with one always on his computer and the other glued to the tv. That will change soon, though, for I plan on taking each of them out and getting them active. Slowly I'm becoming quick friends with the roommate from LA (I actually hit it off with the roommate from SF real quick, on the first night we spent in San Diego). Last thursday we stayed up until 4am talking, and it was completely worth it (who cares that I had Calc at 8am in 3.99 hours), and last night we stayed up until 2am (again, worth it, even if I did have Calc today, again, at 8am). I'm glad I get along with my roommates so well, but I wish the two freshmen roommates would get along better with each other, too. Oh well, we'll get there.

If it weren't for my iPhone, it's gps, and google maps, I don't think I would be where I am today. I've depended on it to find where the nearest vons (Safeway) is (down one block from where I live), target, walmart, etc. Even at campus, I depended on it for the first few days. I used it to access my class schedule, see what rooms they were in and at what times. I also used it to view the map of the campus as I walked around, which is smaller than what I had anticipated.

It's now 1:29pm, and I have to get ready to go to chemistry (my favorite subject, but not so favorite class as of right now). I was actually planning on working on an essay due tomorrow, but I imagine I must have lost track of time... or something like that. Well, I hope to be back here soon, and read new posts. HAPPY NEW YEAR, by the way!!!
